Economics students participate in Wisconsin Economics Association annual meeting
Seven students from UW-Superior’s School of Business and Economics participated in the Wisconsin Economics Association's annual meeting.
Seven students from the University of Wisconsin-Superior’s School of Business and Economics participated in the Wisconsin Economics Association's annual meeting in Stevens Point, Wis., November 8 and 9.
The WEA conference provides the opportunity for exchanging ideas, presenting research, and fostering collaboration for the advancement of economics knowledge and economics professions among the Midwest and Wisconsin economists. This year, three outstanding economics majors presented their research on local and international economic issues.
- Angelica Remache Lopez, a double major in economics and political science, presented research on “Influence of Youth Unemployment to Youth Migration in Ecuador”
- Michael Huttner, a double major in economics and history, presented research on “Economics of Community Engagement: Not-For-Profit vs For-Profit Hospitals”
- Hung Nguyen, an economics and finance major, presented research on “Local Businesses and Community Engagement by UW-Superior”
Four other SBE students, Ramesh Shrestha, Mo Abdillahi, Thao Le, and Arianna Cortez Daza, together with Dr. Praopan Pratoomchat , Dr. Sakib Mahmud, and Dr. Rubana Mahjabeen, also attended the conference.
