Federal Student Loan payments suspended

Due to COVID-19, the Department of Education has suspended payments and interest accrual on federally-held student loans until September 30, 2020.

  • What this means is that a student is able to stop making payments (and automatic payments are turned off) effective immediately on all federal loans until Sept. 30, 2020.

  • The interest rate is being temporarily set at 0% on all federal student loans, which means your federal loans are not accruing any interest for a period of time.
