Law and Justice Dialogue Series explores ‘The Justice Kavanaugh Hearings’

Over 80 people attended this four person panel presentation
UW-Superior kicked off the first ever Law and Justice Dialogue Series on October 24, 2018, with a panel discussion led by the academic experts of the Legal Studies and Criminal Justice Program. They explored the complex issues surrounding “The Justice Kavanaugh Hearings: A Multi-Disciplinary Perspective”.
Over 80 people attended this four person panel presentation designed to provide reasoned and research based information on the controversial hearing process.
Maria Stalzer Wyant Cuzzo, professor of Legal Studies and program coordinator, explored the conflict dynamics attached to the controversial hearing. Nathan LaCoursiere, senior lecturer, Legal Studies, focused on the legitimacy issues surrounding the Supreme Court appointment process. Steven Steblay, senior lecturer, Criminal Justice, offered professional insights on the investigations that occurred as part of the appointment process. Allison Willingham, assistant professor, Criminal Justice, focused on victimology and assault reporting issues.
There was a short opportunity for question and answers with the audience.
The Law and Justice Dialogue Series will continue in the second semester with another contemporary issue of law and justice to in January 2019.
