University of Wisconsin-Superior students will again open their residence halls to Halloween trick-or-treaters from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 31.

For the 26th year, students living in Ross-Hawkes Hall, Crownhart Hall, Curran-McNeill Hall and Ostrander Hall along Catlin Avenue will decorate their hallways and be ready to hand out treats as children through sixth grade are guided by a residence hall staff member. Each year, more than 1,000 children visit the campus for this event.

The Link at Ross-Hawkes Hall, 2231 Catlin Ave., will host carnival activities for children. Kid-friendly arts, craft and face painting will be featured at Crownhart Hall, 1524 Catlin Ave. The basement of Curran-McNeill-Ostrander Halls at 1714 Catlin Ave., will include a haunted house theme for children 12 and older or with parent consent. Candy will still be handed out to trick-or-treaters at each of the buildings separate from these special events. Children visiting any of the residence halls must be accompanied by an adult. Free parking will be available in university lots near the residence halls.

The event is sponsored by Residence Life and the Residence Hall Association. Cash and candy donations are being accepted for the program.
