Standardized Exams

UW-Superior accepts credits earned through three types of Standardized Exams:

Departmental Challenge Exams

Departmental Challenge Exams offer students the chance to earn credit for a course through an exam written and scored by a department. Unlike Standardized Exams, Departmental Challenge Exams are customized to the learning outcomes and curricula of various departments on campus.

Below is a list of currently offered Departmental Challenge Exams. Students should confer with their advisers as appropriate:

Health & Human Performance Various courses per instructors' permission
Music All courses except MUS 110/310, 112/312, 114/314, 382, 384, 385, 386, 388
Natural Sciences GEOL 110: 3 credits but does not fulfill lab or environmental credit requirements
Social Inquiry All Sociology courses except SOC 490, 497, 498, 499; must earn a minimum of B
Visual Arts Course equivalency from technical school will be considered by department
