What You’ll Learn
Biochemistry is the study of the chemical substances and processes that occur in plants, animals and microorganisms and the changes they undergo during development and life. The field of biochemistry is quite interdisciplinary by nature, where biochemists need to possess a knowledge of biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics as well as an appreciation for the interrelationships between these disciplines.
In this program, you will take multiple general chemistry courses, as well as courses in organic chemistry, biochemistry, molecular spectroscopy and calculus-based physics, to name a few.
Through this concentration, UW-Superior prepares you for the following subfields:
