UW-Superior student studying in Swenson Hall.

Overview

The self-designed minor gives you the flexibility to design your own program of study to reflect your unique interests and career goals.  With the help of an experienced advisor, you can choose classes from a variety of subjects to create a custom course of study. We also offer a self-designed major.

Self-designed minors may be taken online, on campus or in a hybrid format, depending on the availability of courses in your designed course of study.

Program Examples

You may choose to design your own minor or choose from a list of pre-planned minors. Examples of self-designed minors that students have completed at UW-Superior include:

  • Sports administration
  • Human relations
  • Legal administration
  • Social administration
  • Human services and public relations
  • Wellness administration
  • Graphic arts
  • Human health services
  • Information literacy

Using the Self-Designed Minor, I was able to pull together education and passion to create a minor that worked for me. I now have the skills and knowledge to accomplish my goals for my career. Because of this, I now work for the largest law firm in Minnesota doing work that I feel proud of each day.
