Overview

We will continue to provide all the student services and academic support services students are wanting and needing to be a successful Yellowjacket. The Division of Student Success and our seven departments within it will be standing by to proactively and reactively help students achieve your goals. 

Much of our services will continue to be offered virtually to support students safely, but some services will be available in limited times and spaces. Please note that these offerings can shift and change based on local, university and CDC developments and changes.

Services that will continue to be offered to you, but in virtual formats* will be (but not limited to):

  • Academic advising meetings
  • Academic tutoring and supplemental instruction
  • Bridge program coaching meetings for participants
  • RISE program courses, mentoring and activities
  • EDI Centers programming
  • Career exploration, development, and preparation meetings and events (such as resume reviews, mock interviewing, skill assessments, etc.)
  • TRIO programs meetings, coaching and programming
  • Disability Support Services accommodations and meetings
  • Some supplemental instruction
  • International student support

*students may be able to request in-person meetings as appropriate and allowable based on safety precautions designated by the university. Please note that these services may not be able to take place in private offices due to physical distancing requirements.

We will be providing limited in-person services to students based on pre-scheduled appointment and need, such as (but not limited to):

  • Bridge program IDS 095 Collegiate Study Skills course
  • EDI centers programming
  • TRIO programs recruitment and some programming
  • Math 090 instruction
  • Disability Support Services test proctoring
  • Some in-person tutoring and supplemental instruction
  • International student welcoming and orientation

Some offices will not be open physically for visitation if staff members are not present on campus.  All employee offices and common office spaces will have signage indicating when the spaces will be open and available to student usage. As more definitive Return to Campus plans are finalized, that information will be posted on this site. Please contact us if you have any questions. 

Academic Advising

Professional academic advisors will be working remotely/virtually through spring semester. All services and assistance that were available in person are available virtually.

Students can make appointments with their professional advisors through Navigate.

Career Services

Career Services will be operating in a virtual format for Spring 2021.

Career Services will be holding Zoom drop-in hours every Monday/Wednesday/Friday at 10:00am-12:00pm and every Tuesday/Thursday at 1:00pm -3:00pm. View Meeting Links.

Career Treks are hosted every Wednesday at 2:00pm via Zoom.
 
Students can make appointments with Career Services staff and register for events and workshops through Handshake.
 
Virtual Head of the Lakes Job & Internship Fair will be March 4 from 10:00am-2:00pm via Handshake.

Bursar and Cashier's Office

Educational Success Center

The Educational Success Center offers several options for students. 

Zoom drop-in tutoring sessions. No appointment necessary - just click the links below to connect during the following times. 

Brainfuse student tutoring. Brainfuse online tutoring connects people who want to learn with experts who love to teach.

  • Professional tutoring is offered to students via Brainfuse 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Students can access Brainfuse with their UWS email. Use your student ID as your password.
  • UW-Superior peer tutors can also be accessed via the Brainfuse Tutor Match tool. Students need to schedule appointments at least 20-minutes ahead of time for this option.

One-on-one appointments. There are still opportunities for one-on-one appointments with the Educational Success Center in relation to time management and study skills (test-taking, note-taking etc.). Student Health and Counseling Services

Student Health & Counseling Services will be offering brief, limited exceptions for in-person appointments for student crises and other extenuating circumstances.

Spring Semester Office Hours (student crises and other extenuating circumstances): Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Alternatives to in-person appointments

  • Services are available through SilverCloud, an online, self-guided, interactive platform that provides UW-Superior students with a variety of modules addressing anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, as well developing greater personal resilience. These modules are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can be accessed through any device at no cost to the UW campus user. Each module is self-paced and can be completed at the users’ convenience.
  • Student Health & Counseling Services will be offering a variety of telemental health offerings for spring semester including individual counseling, telegroup counseling, phone consultations, medication referrals and wellness workshops as an alternative to in-person services. 
    • If you wish to schedule a telecounseling appointment, please call our office at 715-394-8236 or shcs@uwsuper.edu. If you live out of the states listed above and are seeking services during spring semester, you may contact the office and schedule a telephone consultation for help in locating mental health services and resources near you. 
    • To access telecounseling services, a secure teleconferencing platform called “doxy.me” is available for students residing in Wisconsin, Minnesota & Illinois. For students who do not have access to the internet or a computer/cell phone, Student Health & Counseling Services has created a safe and confidential room located within our center MWC 1729. To reserve a room, students will need to call 715-394-8236 or email shcs@uwsuper.edu. Students will be required to wear a mask or shield while entering and leaving the center along with completing COVID-19 screening and have their temperature checked prior to entering. 
    • Telegroup offerings will be announced at a later date.
