Purpose:Amnesty International is a non-governmental organization focused on human rights. As a student group on campus, we strive to bring awareness to the campus community through tabling, petitions, fundraising, community events, and conferences.

Interested in learning about and protecting human rights? Want to meet others with similar interests? How about learning skills like event planning, organizational outreach, or leadership? Want to work for an NGO after college and need to start networking? If any of these apply to you, join UW-Superior Amnesty International!

"Our vision is of a world in which every person - regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender identity - enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and other internationally recognized human rights standards."

Amnesty International members are encouraged to participate in the Midwest Amnesty International Meeting (location varies from year to year), which is a 4-day meeting designed to teach our members about human rights issues and advocacy. In addition, our students sponsor events such as the Human Rights Day, World Toilet Day, World Water Day, and the Refugee Dinner.
