Classroom Technology Upgrades

Posted on Aug 28, 2012
Several UW-Superior classrooms received technology and other upgrades over the summer.

Several campus classrooms received funding for some sort of renovation this year.  As part of the Classroom and Lab Modification process the committee selected HFAC 1183, HFAC 1120, Barstow 107, and MWC 2430 for major upgrades.  All of these spaces received new projectors or a flat panel, teaching station desk and equipment, and in some cases carpeting and work from facilities.  Two spaces in Erlanson Hall, 106 and 205, are also receiving some new equipment and upgrades from grant funding provided by Transportation & Logistic and Business & Economics.  These Projects will all see completion by the start of Fall Semester.  We have also replaced the teaching station desks in the Marcovich Wellness Center and Facilities Management coordinated the patching of carpet in these locations.

The campus also received funding from the UW-System Classroom/Instructional Technology biennial fund to renovate Holden1174-1215-1215 space.  This renovation is in the beginning stages.  Through the renovation we will be tearing down two walls and building a new wall to make two larger classrooms out of this space. One room will be a standard technology classroom, much like those in Swenson.  The second room will receive an interactive whiteboard (Smart Board) along with the standard classroom equipment.  This new space will help pre-service music teachers work with faculty in a more realistic classroom setting.

If you teach or use one of these new spaces and need help with the new technology equipment please contact the campus help desk via e-mail or call x8300.

If you have questions about the renovations, how they were funded, or on the process please contact Joe Kmiech, Director of Technology Support by e-mail or call x8280.
