Technology Funding Programs
UW System Classroom/Laboratory Modernization and Student Technology Fee Funding Programs
UW System allocates some designated funding for technology on UW campuses annually. There are two funds, both based on student FTE. The Student Technology Fee (STF) fund is a percentage of tuition revenue. The Classroom/Laboratory Modernization and General Computer Access (CLM) fund is fixed allocation from the UW System budget. UW-Superior traditionally convenes sub-committees of the University Technology Committee to allocate these funds on campus. Both committees are convened by the Chief Information Officer or their designee.
Application Process for Classroom/Lab Modernization and Student Technology Fee
A call for proposals will be e-mailed to Faculty and Staff with a due date determined by the University Technology Committee (UTC) each year. Once the due date has passed for the submission period, the UTC funding sub-committees will meet and begin deliberations and scoring of the proposals. The committee uses a scoring rubric that is based on the UW System policies that govern these funds. The rubric, the campus Strategic Plan, and input from the proposers is used to help the committee in their decision process. Once all submissions have been evaluated, the committee formulates a matrix of the proposals that will be funded within the total amount allocated each year. Letters will be e-mailed to all applicants to inform them about the funding status of their submission when the process is complete.
Applications for Student Technology Fee funds must meet the UW System rules for Student Technology Fee expenditures.
Applications for Classroom/Lab Modernization (CLM) Funds must meet the UW System rules for CLM Expenditures.
If you have any questions please contact Technology Services.
