Transportation and Logistics Youth Programs

About Us

The Transportation and Logistics Research Center offers different programs designed to empower and guide the youth to reach their personal goals and professional success in the transportation and engineer field. We constantly deliver educational and fun programs, which are for certain age groups and range in length from day camps to overnight camps.

Our programs take a unique approach when providing young people a firsthand experience by having multiple hands-on activities about transportation and STEM. From taking tours to building rockets, and flying planes using simulators to learning how transportation affects their daily lives, these real world examples and experience give the youth a basic knowledge of the transportation industry and a general idea of a future career in the field.

The growth of these youth programs signifies the growth of our Transportation and Logistics Research Center. These programs are successfully launched thanks to generous donations from sponsors and companies throughout the local community and honored organizations.

Programs

The summer programs are dependent on funding.

  • Girls: Be the Future Transportation Leaders of America
    • The program is designed to inspire career interests among young girls. This daylong camp will show girls the ‘hidden empire’ of transportation by teaching them about the five modes of transportation: air, water, rail, road and pipeline. Events provided will be interacting with women transportation leaders, transportation-related activities, a truck tour, a train ride and a ship tour.
  • Aeronautics and Aerospace Camp for High School Girls
    • This two-day camp is great for high school girls who show interests in aviation and space fields. Girls will have to chance to fly planes on simulators, take flights on an airplane and helicopter, launch sample rockets, tour local companies and learn more about women in the industry as well as career opportunities.
