Transportation and Logistics Youth Programs
The Transportation and Logistics Research Center offers several different opportunities for our local youth to learn about transportation. There are several programs designed for certain age groups. The programs range in length from day camps to overnight camps.
Our program takes a unique hand-on approach to give kids an experience they will never forget. From taking tours and building rockets, to flying planes in simulators and learning how transportation affects their daily lives, these programs give the youth the basic knowledge of the transportation industry. We use real world examples that the kids can relate to and understand.
The growth of these youth programs signifies the growth of our Transportation and Logistics Research Center. We are able to put on these programs because of generous donations from people throughout the community.
The programs we hold each year are dependent on funding. Past youth programs we have held are:
- Girls: be the Future Transportation Leaders of America
- Aeronautics and Space Camp for High School Girls
- Rail and Intermodal Summer Youth Program with Michigan tech
- Transportation Simulation Day Camps
