MaKenzie Johnson is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Graduate Counselor Educator program at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Prior to higher education, MaKenzie was a school counselor for a dozen years after graduating from this same program. She comes back to serve in the program that helped her get started in her career and is passionate about being student-focused and developing a program aimed at preparing the next generation of helpers. MaKenzie is dual licensed and also practices part-time as a Licensed Professional Counselor with a focus on helping professionals and maternal mental health clients. Outside of work, she spends her time hiking the vast trails in Duluth with her husband, daughters and puppy Lester.
