About

One of Tim’s favorite sayings is “whether you believe you can, or can’t, you’re right”.  Another is “never waste a good crisis”, which relates to his theory relative to leading change.  Tim believes transformational change can be accomplished either by commitment or crisis, so one should never miss a crisis-related opportunity to drive change. Tim has an M.B.A. from Metropolitan State University and a B.S. from UW-Superior. Tim previously served as a board member for the Special Olympics Minnesota and Institute for Supply Management.

Tim enjoys the outdoors and is an avid Columbia River salmon fisherman and also enjoys ocean fishing for halibut.  Tim also enjoys traveling to visit his children and young grandchildren who live in California and Alaska. Tim is a Superior native and UW-Superior grad who now spends his time between his Portland, OR, area home and their lake home in northern Wisconsin.  He married his high school sweetheart Ericka (Besch) Larson and they have two children and two grandchildren.

Research Interests

Tim’s primary areas of research interests focus on transformational change management within large, complex organizations – and the interpersonal and political issues associated with leading change.
