TYPE

The University of Wisconsin-Superior will host the second annual LiveWell 5K Walk/Run/Roll & Celebration on Thursday, August 14, at Barker’s Island Festival Park in Superior. This free family friendly community event is open to all. Registration is required and it closes August 7. Registration is available online.

Festivities will begin at 5 p.m., with the 5K walk/run starting at 6 p.m. “Rollers” – participants using any wheeled devices – will have a staggered start beginning at 6:15 p.m. This fun-run-style 5K will not be chip-timed. Helmets are encouraged for all wheeled participants.

Following the race, a community celebration will kick off at 6:45 p.m. Activities will include a food station, catered by Chartwells, offering hot dogs, burgers, and more. Attendees can enjoy a seating area for dining and socializing, live music provided by a DJ, and a variety of outdoor games such as corn hole, badminton, Kubb and bocce. Conversation domes will also be available as inviting spaces to relax and connect with others. The event will conclude at 9 p.m.

The LiveWell 5K Walk/Run/Roll & Celebration is hosted by UW-Superior’s Pruitt Center for Mindfulness and Well-Being in collaboration with LiveWell, which has supported opportunities for the community to connect, find joy and enhance well-being since 2022.
