Weekend of Welcome (WOW) is a required comprehensive educational and social program designed to prepare incoming first-year students to succeed at UW-Superior. WOW provides students an important opportunity to meet other students, explore campus and prepare to start the year through a variety of sessions, events and traditions. We are so excited to welcome our newest Yellowjackets to campus this fall!
Once you arrive, your Team Leader (an upperclassmen) will help you navigate WoW and getting started on campus. The countdown is on and we can’t wait!
Weekend of Welcome Schedule | Fall Semester 2023
Saturday, September 2
- 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.: Residence hall move-in
- *8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.: WOW check-in, Yellowjacket Union (note: commuter students do not need to attend Saturday; they can check in on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.)
- 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.: Residence Life evening activities

Sunday, September 3
- *10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.: Commuter student check-in, Yellowjacket Union
- *10:45 a.m. – 10:55 a.m.: Transition to the Great Room
- *11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.: WOW Welcome
- *11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Team meeting #1
- *12:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.: Lunch and educational session rotation (meal provided)
- *1:15 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Buzz 75 introduction, involvement and recreation
- *2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Team activities, team meeting #2
- 5:00 p.m.: Dinner on your own, Union Café
- 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: Party on the Plaza, Yellowjacket Union Plaza (DJ, crafts, photo booth, yard games and fun!)
- 8:00 p.m.: Free time

Monday, September 4
- *9:30 a.m.: Team meeting #3
- 9:45 a.m.: Travel to next session
- *10:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.: Educational sessions
- 11:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.: Lunch with EDI (meal provided)
- *12:45 p.m.: Meet your team leader, travel to next session
- *1:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.: Educational sessions
- *2:45 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.: Refreshment break
- *3:00 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.: Student Support Services (SSS) introduction
- *3:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Team activities
- 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: Dinner on your own, Union Café
- 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: Open rec night (inflatables, sports, games, climbing wall and more!)

Tuesday, September 5
- 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.: Advising drop-in sessions (last name A-M)
- 8:30 a.m. – 9:15 a.m.: Doorbuster, Yellowjacket Union (cool FREE stuff!)
- *9:15 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.: Team meeting #4
- *9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.: Planning for success
- *10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.: Campus technology
- *10:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Educational session rotations
- *12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.: New beginnings luncheon
- *1:00 p.m. – 1:50 p.m.: Department meetings, undeclared meeting
- *2:00 p.m.: Class picture
- 2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Advising drop-in sessions (last name N-Z)
- *2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.: WOW closing and prizes
- 3.:30 p.m.: Relax and prepare for classes!
