Want to take courses without the commitment of a degree? By becoming a non-degree seeking student at UW-Superior, you can pursue passions or prep for what’s next—without enrolling in a degree program.
Is a Non-Degree Option Best for You?
Non-degree seeking students are those who are taking credit-bearing courses at UW-Superior for:
- Personal enrichment
- Certificates and various professional development learning experiences
- Meeting pre-admission requirements for entry into a graduate degree or post-baccalaureate program
These are students who are not currently seeking a bachelor’s or master’s degree from UW-Superior.
A Word on Credit vs. Non-Credit Courses…
Credit courses can be applied toward an associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree, as well as some certificate, licensure or microcredential programs. Each credit course is worth one or more credits based on the time you are expected to spend in that class. You earn the credits by successfully completing the course. Visit our catalog to view our credit courses.
Non-credit courses cannot be used toward an associate, bachelor’s or graduate degree. However, some non-credit courses can count towards continuing education units, industry certifications or continuing education certificates. Visit our Center for Continuing Education for more information on non-credit courses. Important note: Those who are taking non-credit courses are not considered to be non-degree students.
