How to Apply
Can graduate students apply to UW-Superior online?
Yes. Click here to be taken to the UW System Application. Follow the steps on the page to create an account for new users or sign in if you have previously applied to any UW campus.
Is there an application fee for graduate students?
Yes, there is a one time $56 application fee. Students who have previously enrolled at UW-Superior for graduate coursework do not pay the fee again.
What do I need to apply as a non-degree seeking student?
As a non-degree seeking graduate student, you must submit all the same required documents as a degree seeking student except for the application fee.
Transcripts and Prior Attendance
I graduated from UWS, do I have to order an official transcript?
No. Graduate Admissions has access to your UW-Superior transcripts.
I previously attended UW-Superior and I would like to come back. What do I have to do?
To re-enroll at UW-Superior, complete a new application online. If you have attended any other colleges or universities between the time you left UW-Superior and when you plan to re-enroll, please submit an official transcript from that institution(s) to the Admissions Office.
I wish to change graduate programs. Do I have to pay the application fee and order official transcripts again?
No. The application fee is a one-time charge. Your official transcripts are kept on file until a degree is completed. A program change does require a Program/Plan Change Request Form to be filled out.
After Applying / After Admission
How will I know when I am accepted to UW-Superior?
Once you have submitted everything we need, you will be notified by email within a week whether you have been accepted as a student or not. It will be sent to the email address you provided on your application.
Do I have to pay an enrollment deposit as a graduate student?
No, there is no enrollment deposit for graduate students.
Once I am admitted to the Graduate program, how long do I have to finish my
degree?
All credits used to meet the requirements of a graduate degree or certification in professional education must be earned within a period of not more than 10 consecutive years, commencing with the enrollment date in courses applicable to the degree (or certification program) rather than the completion date of applicable courses. This limit applies to resident credit courses, extension courses, and courses taken at other universities.
E-Hive
What is E-Hive?
E-Hive is a student center that contains relevant information you will need while in college. Here you can view your financial aid awards, register for classes, find unofficial transcripts, find your advisor information and more.
How do I log into E-Hive?

What is the hold on my account?
If you have a hold on your account, you may be prevented from registering for courses. Common holds include:
• Having a balance of $2,000.01 or higher
• Needing to meet with your advisor
• Missing official or final transcripts
• Being placed on academic suspension
• Requiring completion of orientation
You can see if you have any holds by visiting your Student Center in E-Hive. If you have a hold listed in your Student Center, there will be instructions provided to guide you on what to do to have the hold removed from your account so you can register for classes.
Transcripts
How can I obtain an unofficial transcript?
Students can obtain an unofficial transcript online through E-Hive. Log in and select Student Center – Self Service – Academic Records – View Unofficial Transcript.
How do I get a copy of my official UWS transcript?
You can order them online through the Registrar’s Office here.
Where do I send my transcripts?
Transcripts should be sent to gradstudy@uwsuper.edu. If mail is the only option, transcripts should be sent to:

Can I mail my official transcripts to UW-Superior?
We prefer electronic delivery as that is quicker to receive, but yes. Mailed transcripts are only accepted as if they are in an official envelope (i.e. it has an official college/university seal) and is in the original sealed envelope.
Enrollment
What constitutes a full-time graduate student?
Online graduate students:
Full time = 6+ credits per semester
Three quarter time = 4.5-5.5 credits per semester
Half time = 3-4 credits per semester
On-campus graduate students:
Full time = 9+ credits per semester
Three quarter time = 7-8.5 credits per semester
Half time = 4.5-6.5 credits per semester
Are professors available for individual appointments?
One of the advantages of a university the size of UW-Superior is the accessibility of professors. Students can expect to get to know their instructors and for their instructors to get to know them. They can make an individual appointment directly with their advisor or professor.
Scholarships
At this time there no scholarships for incoming graduate students. Once you are a current student, you are eligible for scholarships through your academic department.
