Overview
UW-Superior’s Geographic Information Systems minor was designed by professionals in the field to meet a growing demand. This minor will give you an advanced technical skill that can be put to use immediately in the workplace. It can be an ideal complement to many different majors, including environmental science, biology, computer science, history, transportation and logistics management, and many others.
The value I get from my education at UWS is like nowhere else. With two majors in Computer Science and Environmental Studies (self-designed) along with two certificates in Sustainable Enterprise and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), I receive a quality education at half the cost of many other 4-year programs. Not only that, but the on-campus job opportunities allow me to get real experience in my fields of interest, which would be harder to get at larger schools.
Unique Opportunities
- Gain hands-on experience by putting your GIS skills to use as a research assistant or with your own original undergraduate research.
- Gain pre-professional experience as an intern or research assistant, or by conducting and presenting your own original research.
- Learn with the latest GIS technology.
