A Statewide Partnership for Nursing Excellence

The UW–Superior RN to BSN program is part of the BSN@Home statewide collaborative, a partnership among seven University of Wisconsin campuses. This collaboration expands access to top-quality nursing education and connects students with expert faculty and innovative online learning. Based in UW–Superior’s Department of Health and Human Performance and supported by the Universities of Wisconsin Administration, the program combines flexibility, academic excellence and statewide support to help working nurses advance their careers.

Dr. Lorraine Smith, DNP, MSN, RN, CCHP

Affectionately known as “Dr. Lo” by her students – Dr. Lorraine Smith is recognized for her approachable demeanor, vast expertise, and outstanding accomplishments. As the inaugural RN to BSN Program Director at UW-Superior, Dr. Lo brings a wealth of experience and a reputation for running an organized, efficient program.

Before joining UW-Superior, she served as an associate professor of nursing at UW-Eau Claire. With over 25 years of nursing experience, her impressive career includes numerous awards, publications, presentations, and academic achievements, making her a standout leader in the field.
