Sadie Ann: Research

Research-Ready and Lake Superior-Tested

Sadie Ann is a well-equipped research vessel available for use by researchers working in the St. Louis River or the United States waters of western Lake Superior.

With a draft of 4.5 feet and a cruising speed of 12-14 knots, Sadie Ann is a nimble research vessel capable of accessing and moving efficiently between a wide-range of stations in both open and near-shore waters. Sadie Ann’s hybrid propulsion system allows for quiet, controlled movement while sampling or surveying.

Note that Sadie Ann does not have over-night accommodations. The maximum daily cruise time is 10 hours.

A blue and white boat named SADIE ANN is docked by a concrete pier on a sunny day, with railings, upper and lower decks, and water in the background. The words DIESEL ELECTRIC HYBRID are visible on the side, hinting about its eco-friendly technology.
