Superior Stories

A collage featuring black-and-white photos of smiling people, graduates, and groups at events surrounds the words Superior Stories: An Alumni Oral History Project on a white background with yellow accents.

Your Superior Story… Our History

Whether you say UWS, Superior State, WSC, SSU, or WSSU, thank you for sharing your UW-Superior stories and updating your information!

This oral history project provided alumni, faculty, and staff the chance to tell their story in their own words. Now that the story collection phase is complete, these unique stories will be compiled into a beautiful book that celebrates our history.

This opportunity is possible thanks to a partnership with Publishing Concepts, Inc. (PCI). PCI will now compile these stories and create the printed and digital publications. This process takes a while, and the plan is for the books to be distributed next summer. The total duration of the Oral History Project is about 12-15 months, and we began the project in June 2025.

If you purchased clothing or other merchandise, those orders are also created and fulfilled after the project is complete. We anticipate these shipments arriving a little sooner than the books.

About the Oral History Project

UW-Superior partnered with Publishing Concepts, Inc. (PCI) to produce an Oral History Publication that celebrates the legacy of our alumni, faculty, and staff. PCI is a trusted, family-owned company with over 100 years of experience working with educational institutions across the country.

These stories help preserve our collective history, foster alumni pride, and strengthen connections across generations of Yellowjackets. Your participation supports this mission and helps keep our alumni network strong and up to date.
