Transfer Agreements

Do My Credits Transfer?

UW-Superior will work with you to transfer as many of your credits as possible from other community and technical colleges, universities, and military programs.

Students can transfer courses from an accredited college, university or community college with a grade of “D-” or higher. Some degree programs require at least a “C” or higher in order to transfer. It’s good practice to keep a copy of your course descriptions, syllabi and catalog from the institution where the courses were taken.

Types of Transfer Agreements

Articulation Agreements

An articulation agreement is a partnership between two institutions to recognize credits toward a degree. These are formal agreements that are updated regularly to ensure a seamless transfer from a partnering institution to UW-Superior.

UW-Superior works with many community, vocational and tribal colleges to make it easy for you to transfer course credits to our university. Articulation agreements allow you to transfer credits earned through an associate’s degree program to UW-Superior to meet University Studies/General Education and program requirements.

Transfer Guides/MOUs

Transfer guides (sometimes called MOUs) are less formal pathway documents that show students generally how courses will transfer from a partnering institution to UW-Superior. These are maintained and updated regularly, but some variance may occur as courses change at each institution.

University Studies/General Education

If you have earned an Associate in Arts degree from any accredited institution, you will be considered as having met your University Studies/general education requirements for UW-Superior.

  • UW System Guaranteed Transfer Agreement
Under the UW System Undergraduate Transfer Policy, institutions under this agreement offer either an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate in Arts and Science Degree and are recognized as fully meeting the requirements of the UW-Superior University Studies/general education requirements.
  • Minnesota State Community and Technical Colleges
Students transferring from a Minnesota State Community and Technical College institution with an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science or Minnesota Transfer Curriculum will have met the University Studies/general education requirements of UW-Superior.
