Why International Students Choose UW-Superior

Strong Academic Programs

UW-Superior is a nationally recognized member of the University of Wisconsin System, which is one of the largest and strongest public university systems in the United States. Students can choose from more than 60 undergraduate programs and 10 fully online graduate programs, participate in research and innovation and gain experience beyond the classroom.

Personal Attention and Campus Life

An average class size of 18 and student-faculty ratio of 14 to 1 mean students get a level of individualized interaction with faculty that is often unavailable at larger universities.

Location

UW-Superior is set in a safe, residential neighborhood within a dynamic medium-sized metro area on the shore of the largest freshwater lake in the world, Lake Superior. Amenities, recreation and scenic beauty offer something for everyone.

Scholarships for International Students

More than 90% of international undergraduate students at UW-Superior receive an award through the Nonresident Tuition Waiver (NTW) Program. For the 2023-2024 academic year, qualified students are eligible for NTW awards of $5,500 to $7,500 per year.

Diversity & Support

UW-Superior students from approximately 40 countries among our campus community. They are supported by experienced, professional and friendly staff in the Office of Intercultural Student Success.

Career Preparation

The blend of a well-rounded liberal arts education and solid professional training prepares international students for graduate schools and successful careers. In the latest study, more than 94% of recent graduates were either employed or enrolled graduate school twelve months after earning their UW-Superior degree.
