<p class=”noSpacingAbove spacingBelow” data-text-type=”withSpacing”>“When Derek and I first met four years ago and started the Twin Ports Brass Quintet, we quickly discovered that our taste in music was very similar,” said Siegel, D.M.A., associate professor of music at UW-Superior. “Simply put, we enjoy music that has beautiful melodies, lush harmonies, or is ‘weird but cool.’ The repertoire in this recital will focus primarily on the first two points, exemplified by Diamond Hands by Ricardo Molla and Fandango by Joseph Turrin.”

Other works included will be Fragile Dreams by Barbara York, Cousins by Herbert L. Clarke, The Mountains Beckonby Nicole Piunno, and the Double Concerto by Eric Ewazen.

“We are excited to have Alex Sandor join us for the fun collaboration,” said Siegel.
