About

In Mathematics, Sergei’s background and research interest lie in the area of discrete mathematics, particularly Extremal Graph Theory, Poset Theory and Finite Sets Theory. In theoretical computer science, his expertise is in graph embedding and graph partitioning in application to parallel processing. In electrical engineering, his areas are embedded systems, the Internet of Things, wireless communications, microcontroller hardware and firmware development.

Sergei has worked in this area for about 40 years, has 60 publications in professional journals, and has given invited talks at numerous conferences. He has also received at least five training events per year within the past decade, published 121 articles in electronics magazines, and had 50+ online publications.

In his spare time, Sergei likes classical music, opera and theater.

Research Interests

Sergei’s research interests include discrete mathematics, specifically discrete extremal problems like various isoperimetric problems on graphs and their immediate applications to estimating graph bandwidth, cut width, wire length, etc., extremal poset problems like Macaulay posets, chain decomposition and Sperner Theory. Sergei’s electrical engineering research interests concern the design of embedded systems, microcontroller hardware and firmware, wireless communications (WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.) and the Internet of Things (IoT).
