Pamela joined the music faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2002, where she served as Director of Bands and Instrumental Music Education. Her duties included conducting the Symphonic Band, Chamber Wind Ensemble, teaching conducting, clarinet, woodwind techniques, marching band techniques, band and orchestra literature and instrumental methods as well as supervising student teachers.

Pamela earned a Bachelor of Music Education Degree and a Master of Music Education in Band Directing Degree from Appalachian State University of Boone, North Carolina. She earned the Doctorate of Arts in Wind Band Conducting from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley in 1997 where she studied conducting with Dr. Kenneth Singleton and clarinet with Thomas Massey. She has had the privilege of studying with several other prominent conductors throughout the United States including Jerry Junkin (University of Texas at Austin), Eugene Corporon (University of North Texas), and Stanley DeRusha (Butler University). Prior to her current position at UW-Superior, Pamela taught at the University of Minnesota Morris for five years and as a middle school band and orchestra director in North Carolina.

International projects have been at the forefront of Pamela’s endeavors including serving as coordinator of music tours of Mexico, Brazil and Costa Rica and Panama. For the last 18 years, her area of research has been South American band music that has included the countries of Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Paraguay, Venezuela, Costa Rica and Panama. Her most recent international work includes serving as coordinator of the University of Wisconsin-Superior Symphonic Band 2015 Panama Tour. Pamela has also been actively involved in the band field by serving as a contributing author to the Teaching Music Through Performance in Band, Beginning Band Volume 2 and the Middle School Volume.
