About

Laura received a B.F.A. in Studio Arts and a Master of Liberal Studies from the University of Minnesota. She received a Master of Arts in Library Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with an emphasis in archives administration. She continues to be excited to learn about others’ research interests and is deeply committed to helping them explore and dig for information. 

Laura has been involved in the following organizations:

  • Association for Great Lakes Maritime History
  • Duluth Scottish Heritage Association

In her spare time, Laura likes to kayak and sail in summer and ski in winter. She enjoys all kinds of music and reads widely across fiction and non-fiction.

Research Interests

In addition to assisting researchers, Laura is passionate about promoting the maritime history of the Great Lakes. She is currently interested in exploring the records of the local commercial fishing industry and the early history of the Keewenaw Waterway.
