About

Anne has worked and taught in multiple states as an early childhood teacher, elementary teacher, reading specialist, library media specialist, special education and pupil personnel services director, and school administrator. She believes that effective learning is active, with students engaging in learning that uses all of their senses to make meaning of the world around them. The classroom is a place for both students and teachers to learn through inquiry and engage in activities that promote collaborative learning. Anne believes that the classroom is a space that should be supportive and welcoming to all and creates a sense of mutual respect. She believes that each student is an individual and, therefore, uses multiple teaching styles and perspectives to fit the needs of students. Anne aims to create a community of learners who are critical thinkers and take ownership of their learning. She is a proponent of including hands-on (multi-sensory) and real-world experience in her classes and promotes collaboration within the community.

Outside of school, Anne enjoys cross-stitching, reading, exercising, getting out into nature, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. Anne is a military spouse with an active-duty husband.
