Universities of Wisconsin presents Regents Business Partnership Award to Halvor Lines

Universities of Wisconsin Regents Timothy Nixon and Haben Goitom presented the Universities of Wisconsin Regents Business Partnership Award to Halvor Lines on October 13 in the Yellowjacket Union Shippar Family Atrium on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Accepting the award was Ryan Fraley, president of Halvor Lines.

The Universities of Wisconsin Regents Business Partnership Award recognizes businesses that positively affect Wisconsin through their generosity and collaboration with the Universities of Wisconsin.

“We are honored to receive the UW-Superior Regents Business Partnership Award,” said Fraley. “At Halvor, we believe strong partnerships are essential for developing the next generation of leaders in transportation, logistics and business. We are deeply grateful to the UW-Superior community for this recognition and look forward to continuing to grow together and drive success across our region.”

Halvor Lines has been extraordinary supporters of UW-Superior’s transportation and logistics management program for more than 25 years. The company has welcomed a large number of UW-Superior students as interns, helping them gain hands-on, real-world experience that’s essential for success.

They created Halvor University, an innovative internship experience that allows students to rotate through multiple departments across the company. This unique and comprehensive program allows students to explore the many career pathways in the transportation industry – from logistics and safety, to dispatch and beyond.

“At UW-Superior, we talk a lot about the power of collaboration – how our students, faculty and community all benefit when we work together with dedicated industry partners,” said UW-Superior Chancellor Renée Wachter. “Today, I can confidently say that Halvor Lines is one of those exceptional partners whose engagement has shaped careers, inspired future leaders and strengthened our region’s workforce for more than two decades.”

Also during their visit to campus, Regents Nixon and Goitom received updates on UW-Superior’s progress and initiatives, and met with students, faculty and staff.

“It’s a pleasure to be here today to celebrate the partnership between UW-Superior and Halvor Lines,” said Goitom. “UW-Superior is fortunate to have a business like Halvor Lines, which operates across North America, as such a vital partner. It’s truly a Wisconsin success story.”
