UW-Superior to host events for Indigenous Peoples’ Week

The University of Wisconsin-Superior will host two free events open to both the campus and community in recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Week.

On Monday, October 13, at 6 p.m., the Lac Courte Oreilles Dance Troupe will perform in the Yellowjacket Union Shippar Family Atrium. The event will feature a drum group and exhibition led by members of the Lac Courte Oreilles Dance Troupe.

A lunch and learn event will take place on Thursday, October 16, at 11:30 a.m. in the William “Pope” Wright Student Center, located in Old Main, Room 232. The program will include a presentation titled “Walleye Wars” by Larry Nesper, professor emeritus of anthropology and American Indian studies at UW-Madison. Attendees for the event must register by emailing icrc@uwsuper.edu.
