University of Wisconsin-Superior music education: K-12 choral major Seth Gudmunsen is a recipient of this year’s Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA) Richard G. Gaarder Award.

This award recognizes an undergraduate music education student who has shown exceptional leadership, musical excellence and service to campus and community. The award is a credit to the student and also recognizes the college or university for helping to foster the growth of our future music education leaders.

WMEA President Will Janssen and association leaders will present Gudmunsen with the award at the annual Wisconsin State Music Conference on October 29 in Madison.

WMEA is proud to spotlight its 2025 service award recipients – individuals who have sustained a commitment to music education and made a positive impact in the school, community or state.
