Scholarships support future counselors in UWS’s graduate counseling program

Twelve graduate students in the University of Wisconsin-Superior’s Master of Science in Education (M.S.E.) Counseling program have been awarded $5,000 scholarships for the Fall 2025 term, thanks to a partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI).

The recipients represent a range of students in the school counseling track, from those just beginning the program to those nearing graduation.

These scholarships are funded through the Federal School-Based Mental Health (FSBMH) initiative and are part of a broader effort to increase the recruitment, retention, and training of students from historically marginalized backgrounds in school counseling programs.

UW-Superior’s M.S.E. in Counseling program – offered both on campus and online since 2021 – is designed to prepare students for professional roles in counseling and related fields. It is currently the university’s fastest-growing graduate program.
