If you’re someone who loves music and music teachers have impacted your life, you could make a difference in the lives of aspiring young musicians. UW-Superior’s music and education departments have a longstanding reputation for training highly qualified music educators. Nearly 100 percent of our music education alumni find jobs directly following graduation.

UW-Superior offers two K-12 music education programs: instrumental and choral. With a music education Instrumental major, you will earn a Bachelor of Music Education degree. This degree plan includes a semester of student teaching and leads to a K-12 Wisconsin Music Teaching License. Though this track is instrumental education focused, students will also be trained as educators in general music and choral settings.

In addition to opportunities in K-12 music classrooms throughout your coursework, you will complete a full semester of student teaching at the end of your degree and licensure program. Our Field Experience Coordinator will help you find placements that fit your individual needs and goals.
