UW-Superior’s theatre minor complements nearly any major and provides performance and hands-on experiences in acting, stage direction, set design, technical production and more. Whether your aim is career preparation or creative expression, a minor in theatre at UW-Superior will help you develop invaluable skills and talents, such as collaboration, critical thinking and public speaking that will benefit you in any career you choose.
UW-Superior produces two to three productions annually and houses two theatres, a scene shop, costume shop, box office, television studio, media lab and the Wisconsin Public Radio – KUWS 91.3 studio. The facilities, along with our professional and experienced faculty and staff, provide the ideal setting to grow your confidence and talents.
Unique Opportunities
- Earn credits for working on a theatre production. You can choose from performing in or stage managing a show, working in the scene or costume shops, helping with lighting and sound, and assisting in the box office.
- Unlike other institutions, UW-Superior does not require students to audition to be accepted into the theatre program. All students are welcome to participate in theatre productions.
- Students may complete the theatre minor, along with the English Secondary Education major and other licensure requirements, to be eligible for a Wisconsin teaching license.
