Primary Care
Essentia Health St. Mary’s -Superior Clinic is the identified medical provider for UW-Superior students. The clinic is located at 3500 Tower Ave., Superior WI, 54880. Located only 2.7 miles from campus, it is an easy walk or quick cab ride.

Urgent Care

• Available from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Reproductive Health Appointments
The Health Care Clinic provides comprehensive reproductive health care to eligible UW-Superior students. The clinic is located at 1406 Belknap Street Superior WI 54880. Located only 1/2 mile from campus, it is an easy walk or quick cab ride.
The following services are covered by SHCS if you identify yourself as a UW-Superior student:
• Office visits for reproductive medical problems (Vaginal Infection Testing and UTIs)
• Annual Exams (pap smear, pelvic exam, and breast exam)
• STD/STI Testing
• Pregnancy Testing
• Emergency Contraception

Payment and Covered Medical Services
Students need to be aware that all medical services will first be billed to their insurance carrier. If, after being billed to insurance, there are any additional costs, UWS will be billed for the remaining balance for the select services below. Students are responsible for costs of services received that are not covered by SHCS. If you have questions or concerns about your medical bill, please call 218-786-3333 or 800-985-4675.

• Covid-19 Detection test (DNA or RNA)
Transportation to Medical Appointments
A free cab service is available from UW-Superior Campus Police for students who need transportation from campus to their medical appointments at Essentia Health St. Mary’s-Superior Clinic. Students may call 715-394-8114 to request cab service and identify themselves as an UW-Superior student. A valid UW-Superior Student ID number will be necessary to obtain this free service.
If transportation to an appointment is needed for a clinic other than Essentia Health St. Mary’s-Superior Clinic, students need to receive authorization from the Student Health & Counseling office before receiving transportation services. This includes appointments at any Duluth Essentia Health locations. If students do not obtain authorization, they will be responsible for paying any transportation costs.
